Slide non-stop at Cedar Junction, a water park with 16 slides and multiple pools. It’s situated at the foot of the Bronberg Mountain range, providing stunning scenery as you splash around the water.
The water slides include speed and kiddie slides, as well as an outdoor lazy river. Smaller children can safely play in the water inside the indoor lazy river with three stop-block slides.
And if you get tired of swimming, the park also functions as an amusement park, with playgrounds, picnic grounds, and miniature train rides for added entertainment.
One summer, I took my kids here to cool off. The highlight of our trip was the speed slides—high enough for us to zip through the water with a big splash!
Tips: After tackling the speed slides, unwind on the indoor lazy river with younger kids. You can also use it as a cool-down activity before hitting the showers. The miniature train ride isn’t just for kids; it’s for adults too! It will take you on a scenic ride through tunnels and bridges for a different perspective of the park. |

The park also has a JumpZone, an area filled with trampolines. If you’re looking for a relaxing day with family and friends, there are also picnic and braai areas.
My family had a reunion here, and it was a fun outdoor experience. While we were busy cooking and preparing food in the nearby braai facility, our kids were safely playing in the kids’ play area, splashing and swimming.
Tips: The JumpZone can be extremely hot, especially at noon. It’s more comfortable in the early morning or late afternoon. It’s open from October 15 to May 15. After that, you’ll have to wait until October since they close during the rainy season for safety and maintenance reasons. |

Grizzlies Water Park is another great spot to cool down. It has a lively atmosphere and you’ll hear joyous screams of guests sliding down their thrilling slides.
There’s also a well-kept braai area where you can cook your meals (though you have to purchase charcoal, wood, or ice in their supply kiosk).
The little ones have a safe space of their own, as the place features a big kiddie pool with slides. There’s also a lazy river, ideal for those wanting to relax under the sun.
My kids and I mostly had a “lazy” experience here, casually floating on swim rings in the lazy river. But, of course, we also tried the speed slides, and my kids screamed their lungs out as we zipped down.
Tips: Their online booking automatically closes if you try to book on the same day to avoid any double bookings. To have a private braai facility, book one of their gazebos. Be quick though, as they’re on a first-come-first-serve basis. |
